Indeed: No New Single-Sourced Feeds for Integrated ATS Partners in the US

Indeed: No New Single-Sourced Feeds for Integrated ATS Partners in the USBig news coming straight from the Indeed Whisperer himself, Jim Durbin, this week.

Indeed announced yesterday, effective June 2025: No New Single-Sourced Feeds for Integrated ATS Partners in the US

And for those of wondering, will Indeed really implement this policy? Job Board Doctor readers have already shared that the company has denied their new feed ingestion requests.

Indeed continues its full frontal (assault) on agencies

Recruitment marketing agencies—like Shaker, Radancy, and others—have the responsibility to utilize their clients’ (think McDonald’s, FedEx) budgets, brand messaging and open job reqs to attract qualified jobseekers to open roles in the most cost effective way.

For more than a decade, these recruitment marketing agencies have funneled BILLIONS of dollars into the coffers of Indeed and its parent company, Recruit Holdings.

Indeed’s response? Yeah, f**k those guys.

And so, this week, we have yet another policy change from Indeed as it attempts to squeeze every last dollar out of the market it leads.

Indeed “Guidance” Email

The Job Board Doctor received a copy of the email sent to agencies, presented below in its entirety.  Let’s hear it in their own words and regroup on the other side.

EMAIL COPY

Why is Indeed doing this? This is part of Indeed’s broader effort to streamline job aggregation and scale Indeed Apply. This change reflects a strategic initiative aimed at improving consistency, scalability, and value, for our employers, job seekers, and Indeed.

What does this mean for me? Starting June 2025, you will no longer be able to request or maintain single source feeds on behalf of US-based employers with an ATS integrated with Indeed. However, Indeed offers a technical path forward:

  • Agencies may integrate with the Job Update API, which allows for management of job updates in partnership with the employer’s ATS.
  • Explore integrating with the Job Update API and discuss with your Indeed Agency team.

What requests will be supported? New single source feed requests will only be accepted if the employer’s ATS is not integrated with Indeed.

How do I know what ATS integrations are available? Please refer to our Integration Hub for this information.

What happens to existing Single Source feeds? Additional updates will be provided regarding existing per-client feeds.

END EMAIL

Welcome back!

Indeed’s Chaos reigns – what now?

Jim Durbin’s LinkedIn post to companies that rely on recruitment advertising agencies is pure gold.

He breaks down how this change creates brand damage, increases operational burdens, and ultimately harms employers.

It is a must read.

🔗 Earth-shattering news in Indeedistan.

Indeed Job Update API: A Solution to a Problem Indeed Created.

The solution—the Job Update API—is tariff-level gaslighting, friends. They have manufactured a new barrier to employer-agency workflows and then offered a shiny new “solution” to said barrier.

Graciously, the email outlines two “technical” paths forward:

  1. Integrate with the Job Update API
  2. EXPLORE integrating with the Job Update API

Ummmm… those are the SAME path.

So the solution to a problem they created is, well, to adopt the solution they are shoving down our throats.

Indeed Disposition SYNC: The Next Step

A few months ago, I flagged early signs of upcoming widespread forced implementation of Indeed Disposition Sync.

Meghan Rhatigan of Marriott International explains how companies are likely to feel about sharing their candidate disposition data with third parties.

This policy is just another step down that road. Today’s Chad and Cheese podcast also digs into this exact issue:

🔗 Chad and Cheese

This short-sighted money grab—via yet another ill-thought out policy change—has the recruitment marketing industry in a collective rage.

The big question:

  • Will employers and agencies finally shift their strategies?
  • Or will they keep feeding the beast endless amounts of cash and candidate data?

For the sake of the industry, I’m rooting for change.

What Does Indeed’s Policy Change Mean for Job Boards and Recruitment Tech?

For job board owners and recruitment tech providers, now is the time.

Dollars will flow away from Indeed. Be ready to catch them.

Offer solutions that give employers real, scalable value—delivering both the quantity and quality of candidates they need.

🚨Reality Check

If you read the Job Board Doctor regularly—and I hope you do—you know I love a good scoop. I’ve been lucky to have sources who trust me enough to share credible information, which I always verify before it hits your inbox.

But it appears someone out there thinks the new “Doc” will just run with anything. Spoiler alert: I won’t.

Until next time,

The Doc
